The new Ferrari SUV is here and it’s called the Purosangue. Yes the supercar manufacture Ferrari has built an SUV and it has a V12 engine.
This car may be one of the coolest SUVs ever made! Not only is this Ferrari’s first SUV, it’s the first production, 4 door Ferrari ever made. It’s set to compete against the Bentley Bentaga and the Lamborghini Urus, setting a new bench mark for daily driving for the elite. The name Purosangue means Pureblood or thoroughbred, which we agree is a fitting name for a super V12 SUV. The Purosangue is powered by a 6.5 litre naturally aspirated V 12 and pushes out 715bhp and 528lb of torque and revs to an astronomical 8250rpm’s.
This car would make the dullest person appear as a sex symbol with its sumptuous curves and unadulterated looks.
Not only does it make 75 more horse power than the Lamborghini Urus it’s V12 soundtrack alone sets the Ferrari in a class of its own.
With a weight of approximately 5000lb roughly 2.5 tonnes, Ferrari indicates it can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds and goes on rapidly to a top speed of 193MPH which is 3 miles per hour faster than the Urus. The model features an 8 speed transmission dual clutch system and has an all wheel drive dynamic setup, which switches to rear wheel drive when it reaches 4th gear and attains higher speeds.
In typical Ferrari style, they have released the Purosangue and have expressed clearly that they don’t class this vehicle as an SUV but they consider it an extension of their existing range of super cars. There are a number of specialist features including an all new chassis and electric motors which applies force to the dampers to reduce and control the body roll in replacement of anti-roll bars.
As the Purosangue has a low driving position, it is not built for off roading and the huge 22inch rims in the front and 23inch rims in the back have ensured that this slick V12 firmly secures its place as one of the most comfortable Ferrari’s to drive for everyday road use.
The front features massive intake vents for cooling the V12 and has floating daytime running lights with headlights placed lower down to cement its charming looks.
The doors are a unique feature and are referred to as suicide doors, also featured on the Rolls Royce where the rear doors are hinged from the back. The interior is radically different, sleek and futuristic, featuring two led dashes for the driver and the passenger with a neat pop up dial situated in the middle of the dash for easy entertainment navigation. The boot space is large enough for your weekly shopping and the occasional golf trip which is a compliment to a car of this calibre. The large cabin, carries ample legroom in the front and the back with good headroom height in the rear.
I think this is a great entrance making a statement for Ferrari with its price starting at £350,000 for the base model.
Conclusion
So the decision is unanimous and it is fair to say on this account, four doors are just as appealing as two doors, the Purosange is a hit. Be sure to register for onxy membership on the Bluxe app to be eligable for the Ferrari automotive waiting list.
