From the USA to Africa with Art
What an amazing contrast for the USA this weekend, as the US Embassy in London played host to the launch of EPG Art for black history month.
The event marked the first in a series of EPG Art exhibitions dedicated to some of the leading artists in the UK of African decent. Featuring Lanre Olagoke originating from Nigeria and Fabien Soazandry originating from Madagascar.
This platform has been created by EPG Media Limited to share the works of the worlds leading African artists to the world. The auspicious occasion was attended by senior members of Sotheby's and Bonhams, who were dazzled by the authentic mix of culture and the smooth delivery and execution of the event.
An insider from the embassy explained;
"it is very rare that you get such a rich fusion of wealth, culture, business and influence in the same environment sharing in African culture in the UK".
The event was attended by the likes of senior executives from Dangote Global Services, Snapchat, Louis XIII and Hackett alongside celebrities including Yasmin Sait-Armstrong, Ozwald Boateng, Mrs Nana Otedola, Paul Blake, Paisley Billings and Jamelia. Diplomats from the Spanish and Ethiopian Embassies were also present to enjoy the colourful, cultured collection.
A private auction was held on Sunday 26th February at the Hospital Club by invitation only, which was a star-studded affair and a fitting grand finale to an amazing exhibition.
